The platform

6 questions
What is Ceramispot?
Ceramispot is a French platform dedicated to the world of ceramics. It lets individuals book pottery workshops and rent ceramic kilns or pottery wheels across France, and lets professionals publish their offers to reach a community of enthusiasts.
Is signing up free?
Yes, sign-up is 100% free for individuals and professionals alike. Ceramispot earns a commission on bookings made through the platform, already included in the displayed price, and a €1 service fee per booking, shown separately before any payment. No subscription, no hidden fees.
What services are available on Ceramispot?
Ceramispot offers three kinds of service:

• Workshop bookings — pottery classes, wheel-throwing courses, hand-building sessions, ceramic painting…
• Ceramic kiln rental — electric and gas kilns, bisque firing, glaze firing, raku…
• Potter's wheel rental — electric wheels in a studio, for beginners and experienced potters alike.
Is the platform available all over France?
Yes, Ceramispot covers all of mainland France. New listings are added every week. If you cannot find anything in your area, do get in touch — we are actively expanding the network.
Is payment secure?
Yes. All payments are handled by Stripe, a world leader in online payments. Your card details never pass through Ceramispot. The connection is SSL-encrypted and Stripe holds PCI DSS Level 1 certification.
Are there any fees on top of the displayed price?
Just one, and it is shown upfront: a €1 service fee per booking. The price on the listing already includes the Ceramispot commission; at checkout you see the price of the service, the service fee and the total charged before you confirm. Nothing else can be charged. If the studio cancels, this fee is refunded along with everything else.

My account

3 questions
How do I create an account?
Click Log in at the top right, then Sign up. Enter your first name, last name, email and a password: your customer account is opened right away. Signing up takes less than 2 minutes. Professionals enter their SIRET (or registration) number: their account is opened after it has been checked.
I have forgotten my password — what now?
On the sign-in page, click Forgotten password? Enter your e-mail address and a reset link reaches you within minutes. If it does not arrive, check your spam folder.
How do I delete my account?
You can request the deletion of your account and personal data at any time: from your dashboard (Profile section), or by writing to us via the contact page. You receive an acknowledgement by email, and the request is processed within one month, as required by the GDPR. Only data we are legally required to keep (invoices, payments) is retained, and for that purpose only.

Book a workshop

5 questions
How do I book a pottery workshop?
Go to the Book a workshop page, filter by town, activity or date, then pick the slot that suits you. Click Book, confirm and pay by card. You receive a confirmation e-mail with all the practical details.
I am a complete beginner — is it for me?
Absolutely. Most workshops listed on Ceramispot welcome complete beginners, and every listing states the level required. Introductory sessions are designed for people who have never touched clay. All materials are provided on site.
What should I bring to a workshop?
As a rule, the studio provides the materials (clay, tools, apron). Just wear something comfortable that you do not mind staining. Leave jewellery at home and avoid long sleeves. Each listing sets out its own specifics in the description.
Can I come with children?
It depends on the studio. Some run family or children's sessions, usually from age six or seven. The minimum age appears on each listing. For wheel-throwing the minimum is often higher — twelve to fifteen — because the movement is demanding.
When can I collect my pieces?
After a session your pieces need to dry and then be fired — sometimes twice, bisque then glaze. Reckon on two to four weeks before you can collect them. The studio contacts you directly, and the exact arrangements appear on each listing.

Equipment rental

3 questions
How do I rent a ceramic kiln?
Go to Find a kiln and filter by firing type (bisque, glaze, raku, high fire…), location and volume. Each listing details the type of kiln, its capacity, the prices (per shelf, per piece, per kilo or per firing) and the conditions. Send your request: the professional replies with a quote, which you pay online.
How do I rent a potter's wheel?
On the Find a wheel page you will find pottery wheels for rent. Depending on the listing, the wheel is used on site, in the professional's studio, or taken home (delivery or pickup), for a day, a week or a month. Each listing states the formula, the type of wheel, any deposit and the minimum duration. Send your request: the professional confirms availability and sends you a quote, payable online.
Is there a deposit or insurance?
Deposit and insurance terms vary from one listing to another. Some owners ask for a deposit, usually between €50 and €300, returned after the rental. The exact terms appear on each listing before you book. We recommend checking your own third-party liability cover.

Special requests

2 questions
Can I ask for a custom quote?
For a kiln or wheel rental, that is how it normally works: you describe your needs in your request, and the professional replies with a detailed quote, which you pay online. For a workshop (group, private session), the options on offer are shown on the listing; for a specific need, mention it in the message of your request, or contact us. Payment remains secured by Ceramispot.
What if something goes wrong with a booking?
If things did not go as planned, first message the professional through Ceramispot to try to settle it amicably. If no agreement is reached, contact our team and we will act as mediator between the two parties. Ceramispot undertakes to handle every complaint fairly.

Cancellations & refunds

3 questions
Can I cancel a booking?
Yes. Ceramispot applies a single cancellation policy to every booking, whoever the professional is: 5 days before the session or more, the service is refunded to you 100%; between 48 h and 5 days, 50%; less than 48 h, there is no refund. The €1 service fee is retained when the cancellation comes from you. The details are on our Cancellation and refunds page.
How soon am I refunded?
The refund is sent to Stripe as soon as you cancel, not later. The credit to your bank account can then take 5 to 10 working days depending on your bank. You will receive a refund confirmation e-mail. Full details are on our Cancellation and refunds page.
What happens if the professional cancels?
If a professional cancels a booking you are refunded in full, no conditions attached. We tell you straight away by e-mail and suggest similar alternatives in your area.

Register as a professional

4 questions
How do I sign up as a professional?
Create an account and choose Professional when you register. Enter your SIRET number, which our team checks by hand. Once approved you get your dashboard, where you create listings, manage bookings and follow your earnings.
How does the commission work?
Ceramispot takes a 12% commission on each transaction made through the platform. It is included in the price you display: on top of it, the customer only pays a €1 service fee per booking, which goes to Ceramispot and does not affect your share. The commission covers matchmaking, secure payment, built-in messaging and the visibility provided. No subscription, no fixed fees: you only pay when you sell.
Is a SIRET number compulsory?
Yes: a registered business is required to publish paid listings. In France this is the SIRET number (sole traders, individual businesses and companies); in another country, your business registration or VAT number. Our team checks each application by hand before opening the account. If your registration is in progress, contact us.
What kinds of listing can I publish?
You can publish three kinds of listing:

• Workshops & classes — taster sessions, courses, regular classes, open studio, team building…
• Ceramic kiln rental — make your kiln available to other ceramicists for their firings
• Potter's wheel rental — offer access to your wheel in the studio

Each kind has its own form with the right fields.

Manage my listings

4 questions
How do I create a listing?
From your dashboard, click Create a listing. Fill in the form: title, description, photos, prices, available slots. The cancellation policy is Ceramispot's: it is the only one, applies automatically, and you accept it once, on your first listing. Your listing will be checked by our team and published within 24 to 48 h.
Can I edit my listings after publishing?
Yes, you can edit your listings at any time from your dashboard: prices, photos, description, slots. The cancellation policy, however, is fixed and identical for every listing on the site. Changes are published immediately; our team may check them afterwards and write to you if a correction is needed. A booking already paid for always keeps the price and the conditions accepted at the time of booking.
When and how am I paid?
The customer's payment is collected at booking. The net amount (after the 12% commission) is paid out 3 days after the service; it then reaches your bank account according to Stripe's and your bank's processing times. You can follow all your payments in your dashboard.
How do I talk to my customers?
Ceramispot has secure built-in messaging so customers and professionals can talk before and after a booking. You get an e-mail notification for each new message. For your own protection we recommend keeping everything about a booking inside that messaging.

Visibility & performance

2 questions
How do I make my listings more visible?
A few good practices that help customers decide:

• Quality photos — bright pictures of your studio and your creations
• Detailed description — describe how it works, what is included, the level required
• Regular slots — a customer who finds a date that suits them is more likely to book
• Quick replies — a request handled quickly more often turns into a booking

The ranking criteria for listings are published in our terms and conditions.
Can I follow my statistics?
Yes. Your professional dashboard shows, in real time: how many views your listings get, how many bookings, your turnover and your payment history. It is what you need to adjust your offers and your prices.

Payments & invoicing

2 questions
How are professional payouts handled (Stripe Connect)?
Ceramispot uses Stripe Connect to handle professionals' payments. You connect your bank account through Stripe from your dashboard. Customer payments are collected at the time of booking, then the net amount (after commission) is automatically transferred to your account three days after the service. You have no payment reminders to send; invoices to your customers remain yours to issue according to your tax status.
How does invoicing work?
For every transaction Ceramispot produces a detailed statement in your dashboard: gross amount, commission taken, net amount paid out. Issuing your own invoices, in line with your tax regime, remains your responsibility. French sole traders benefit from the VAT exemption within the applicable thresholds.
