Forum guidelines
The Ceramispot forum is a place where ceramics enthusiasts and professionals help each other. To keep it pleasant and useful for everyone, here are the rules we share.
Getting started on the Forum →
Mentioning WhatsApp is allowed. Phone numbers, email and personal addresses are shared only in private. Listings have their own private messaging.
1. Kindness first
Everyone was a beginner once. No mockery, no curt “this has already been asked”: point people to the right topic instead. Comment on the piece, never on the person.
2. One question, one topic, the right category
Search first using the search bar: the answer may already be there. Give a precise title and the useful information (clay, temperatures, glaze, kiln, photos). When a reply has helped you, mark it as the solution.
3. Responsible advice
Ceramics means heat, dust and chemicals. Point out the risks you know about (silica dust, kiln ventilation, glazes and food contact). Don't present a guess as a certainty, especially when it comes to safety or tableware. For electrical or gas installations, refer people to a professional.
4. No hidden advertising
Professionals are welcome to share their know-how. Promotional posts and repeated commercial links, however, have no place in discussions. If you have an interest in what you recommend (you sell the product, you work for the brand), say so. To offer your workshops, your kiln or your wheels, post a listing on Ceramispot.
5. Respect other people's work
Only post your own photos, or images you have the right to share. Credit your sources. Don't present another maker's work as your own.
6. Privacy
Don't share personal information (address, phone number, email) in public posts, whether it's yours or someone else's. Location data in your photos is removed automatically on upload.
7. Reviews of studios and classes
Feedback from experience, positive or negative, is valuable as long as it stays factual and courteous. No personal attacks and no accusations without proof.
8. Moderation
The Ceramispot team may edit, move, hide or delete a post that doesn't follow these guidelines, and suspend an account for a while. Posts with links from new members are reviewed before they go live. If a post seems problematic to you, use the “Report” button: your name isn't shared with the author.
9. Your content
You remain the author of your posts and photos. By posting them, you allow Ceramispot to display them on the forum. You can edit your posts at any time. For any request about your data, contact us.
Thanks for bringing ceramics to life with us!
